| 内容記述 | 本稿の目的は、浅草地域の革製履物製造業を例に地場産業の衰退について分析をすることである。同産業では、革製履物の国内生産量が年々減少してきているが、その背景には、関税の引き下げによって安価な製品が新興国から輸入されているからである。 自由貿易の推進は、経済発展を促し、生活の質の向上に寄与するものと理解されている。これは、「比較優位」という説に由来するものである。しかし、自由貿易が進むと競争力の弱い産業は淘汰され、それぞれの地域で育くまれてきた地場産業が消滅する可能性をもっている。浅草は産業集積地としての優位性が認められる一方で、前近代的な「職人」的生産組織が依然として残存する地域であり、貧困を生み出す構造をも有している。その状況を統計資料と聞き取り調査から概観し、課題を提起する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the decline of the leather footwear industry, which is a local industry in Asakusa. The domestic production of leather footwear is decreasing every year because reduction in tariff is promoting import of cheap leather shoes from developing countries. The people promoting free trade understand that free trade promotes financial development and improves living quality. This derives from "theory of comparative advantage." However, when free trade is being developed, weak industries are selected, and the local industries that people have developed may become extinct. The leather footwear industries in Asakusa are excellent as regional industrial clusters, but poverty may occur because old-fashioned product organization of "craftsmanship" is no longer present. After surveying its situation from a statistical analysis and interview survey, several problems have been discovered. | |||||
