The paper will be divided into two parts. Part One will deal with the economic issues afflicting the community. Part Two will discuss the social conditions of the community as well as the role of the Department of Aboriginal Affairs (JHEOA) which has been designated as the 'custodian' of the welfare of this community. Part one will examine issues of land, dispossession, dislocation and deforestation, which had serious implications on the welfare of the Aslian community. This segment of the paper will also highlight the Orang Asli as the most exploited community in the society.
