| 内容記述 | Costello is a type of text-based virtual reality internet game called a MUD. This paper outlines the design of the game, and the pedagogical reasons behind its development and use as a supplementary tool in EFL reading and writing classes. Discussion of some of the issues of Second Language Acquisition posed by the use of such a tool are also considered, with reference to the field. It is concluded that while the game will not appeal to all teachers and students, it may have a role to play in certain EFL situations. Further empirical research is suggested to show whether real benefits can be claimed for the method. | |||||
