| 内容記述 | This study aims to clarify that individual high batting average players and low batting average players show distinctive batting characteristics depending on the counts and runners on bases. It also aims to explore effective pitch combinations based on their batting characteristics.Players who were at bat for a specified number of times in the Spring League held by the Kankoshin Student Baseball Federation in 2012 were selected for the study. Two groups were created: the top players with a batting average of 0.300 or above and the bottom players with a batting average of 0.150 or below.The batting performances of the two groups were classified according to count at bat and the presence of runners on bases, and the batting averages of each group by situation were calculated. At the same time, the batting averages of each group in individual "count favorable to the hitter"and "count favorable to the pitcher" were calculated. The test of independence was also conducted to investigate the correlation between counts to batters levels. The following results were obtained;1. The top players recorded a high percentage of getting a hit in the first or second pitch. They also achieved a high batting average in both count favorable to the hitter and count favorable to the pitcher. In addition, they tended to achieve a high batting average after two strikes.2. The bottom players recorded a lower batting average in count favorable to the pitcher than in count favorable to the hitter. They tended to record a low batting average in every count, but the relatively high percentage they got relatively high percent of hitting in the first pitch.3. The top players were not affected by whether or not runners were on bases. On the other hand, the batting performances of the bottom players varied with the presence of runners on bases; they were affected by whether or not runners were on bases. | |||||
