内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to survey university students Dietary and smoking habits and investigate the relationship between them. The subjects were a total of 427 university students (199 males and 228 females) in the second or senior years living in the suburbs of Morioka City, Iwate, Japan. An unregistered and self-administered questionnaire was collected from them between July and October 2001 to comparatively investigate the situation regarding not eating breakfast, lunch or supper, eating between meals and late-night meals, usual food intake, future food intake, etc. by gender and by "smoking" and "non-smoking" groups. 1) The percentage of smokers was 30.7% for males and 12.3% for females. The percentage of non-smokers was 64.8% for males and 85.5% for females and the percentage of those who used to smoke was 4.5% and 2.2%, respectively. For analysis, "used to smoke" was included in "non-smoking." 2) There were no differences in the height, weight and BMI for males and females between smoking and non-smoking groups. 3) A significantly (p < 0.05) higher percentage of male in the smoking group than in the non-smoking group did not eat breakfast. 4) A significantly (p < 0.01) higher percentage of male in the non-smoking group than in the smoking group usually ate soybean products. 5) A higher percentage of female in the smoking group than in the non-smoking group cited soybean products, seaweed, green vegetables, other vegetables, and potatoes as foods that they wanted to eat a larger amount of in the future. | |||||
