内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Iwate Prefecture's cold climate and the cooking and eating habits of its residents. We, the authors, conducted a survey focused on the interior climate and food customs of homes. Along with the survey, we measured indoor temperatures and air quality, and conducted detailed research on the eating habits of Iwate's residents. Our survey and research revealed several interesting points. One point was that kitchen style varied according to the total floor space of each home as well as regional tradition. Also, the average indoor temperature of kitchens in winter differed between milder and colder regions within the prefecture. People living in milder areas tended to have comparatively lower average kitchen temperatures. Another point that our research revealed was that regional eating habits Were strongly influenced by local industries as well as marketing. The other interesting point revealed by our research was that the difference in temperatures of each room within residences wes remarkably large. This was due to partial and intemitted heating. It turned out that the residents of homes with the largest temperature variations within their homes were inclined to consume higher concentrations of salt. | |||||
