| 内容記述 | 1855年の日魯通好条約で日露国境が画定し、南千島は日本領となった。明治期から定住者も増えて、北千島とは異なり、根室と有機的に結びついた経済圏が成立してゆく。漁業・水産業を中心とする内国植民地的な発展は、1945年のソ連軍侵攻とその後の日本人強制退去によって終焉し、ソ連/ロシアによる実効支配が現在まで続いている。日本は、1960年代から南千島を「北方領土」と呼び、「日本固有の領土」としてロシアに返還要求しているが、南千島90年間の日本時代の実態を知る人は少ない。本稿は、南千島における日本人社会の成立とその構造、ソ連侵攻と占領下の南千島、日本人強制退去のプロセスを、元島民の目から明らかにするものである。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | According to the treaty of Shimoda, concluded by Japan with Russia in 1855, the Southern Kuril islands (Minami-Chishima) belonged to Japan. In the Meiji period these islands were settled by Japanese, and the fishing industry began to develop. Being both economically and socially connected with Nemuro, Minami-Chishima became a kind of a domestic colony of Hokkaido. The Japanese society of Minami-Chishima was completely crushed by the invasion of the Soviet army in 1945 and the repatriation of Japanese in 1947-48. In the 1960s the Japanese government began to use the name of "the Northern Territories" for Minami-Chishima and demanded from the Soviet Union/Russia that it be returned to Japan. This article is devoted to tracing the 90-year Japanese period of Minami-Chishima, clarifying the reality of "Japanese inherent territories" from the point of view of the Japanese residents of Minami-Chishima at that time. | |||||
