| 内容記述 | ハヤチネウスユキソウとエーデルワイスの姉妹花が縁で始まった大迫町の国際交流は、1965年に締結されたオーストリアのベルンドルフ市との友好都市関係を通して、持続的にそして精力的に展開されてきた。両市町は平和を願う気持ちを土台に据え、相手の顔が見える交流を中心にして、青少年交流、山岳文化紹介、ワイン技術の修得など様々な分野において大きな成果を上げてきた。これまでの成果を人的、物理的、そして精神的な面から検証するとともに、さらなる発展のために、今後の課題としていくつかの提言を行った。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | It was as early as in 1965 that a friendship city agreement between the cities of Ohasama, Japan and Berndorf, Austria was officially signed. Since then, both cities have enjoyed a great variety of activities ; exchange students from both countries participated in classes, and gave cultural presentations in the schools ; individual homes hosted and entertained both students and adults, thoroughly appreciating the foreign cultures which their guests presented, and also enthusiastically introducing their own cultures to the guests. For the participants, intermingling with the community proved to be a constructive experience which led them to changing their view of foreign countries. Thus mutual understanding and reciprocation have brought the relationship longevity. While in the initial phases of the development mayors and city councils played an influen tial role in the programs in order to make the programs positive and meaningful for the com munities, at present a large number of citizens are involved in them, having full realization of the value of the relationship. Volunteerism is one of the characteristics which they have been devotedly and persistently cultivating through the programs, and the friendship city relationship between the two cities with less than 10,000 inhabitants is far and away the most successful and fruitful program when their size is taken into consideration. | |||||
