| 内容記述 | 岩手県立大学では、大学の活性化、大学で伸びる可能性のある学生を集めることを狙い、平成12年度入試よりアドミッション・オフィス入試を開始した。求める学生を見出す良い方式と認識しているが、今後、さらに一般選抜を含めた入試システムの改善を進めるため、世界中から優秀な学生を集め、教育・研究の両面で世界をリードしているアメリカの大学入試・教育システムについて調査を行った。小論では、まず、アメリカの大学における入試・教育システムの特徴について概説する。次に、アメリカの大学システムと対比して日本の入試・教育システムを再考し、チャレンジ可能な大学システムと、それを支える大学への多様な入学システムの必要性及び、地域と社会の関係における大学の役割の明確化の重要性を主張する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Iwate Prefectual University started a new type of entrance examination called an "admissions office examination" in 1999 for the purpose of energizing the university and gathering students that have the potential to develop their abilities while at the university. To improve the total entrance examination system, research concerning student selection systems and educational systems at American universities was conducted. This paper describes the features of student selection systems in the United States. Comparison with Japanese systems indicates the need to provide an educational system that allows everyone to take on the challenge of studying at a university and to provide diversity in university enrollment. | |||||
